
In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World huge tourist
place. While the white domed marble mausoleum is the most famous and impressive
of the Taj Mahal, it is actually an integrated complex of structures. The
construction, employing thousands of artisans and craftsmen. The court
chronicles of Shah Jahan's grief illustrate the love story traditionally held
as an inspiration for Taj Mahal. The principal mausoleum was completed in 1648
and the surrounding buildings and garden were finished five years later.

Soon after the Taj Mahal's completion, Shah Jahan was
deposed by his son Aurangzeb and put under house arrest at nearby Agra Fort.
Upon Shah Jahan's death, Aurangzeb buried him in the mausoleum next to his wife
Mumtaz.
The TajMahal timings for people visit are from 6 a.m. to 7
p.m. weekdays, except Friday. On the Friday, only TajMahal’s Mosque will open
for Friday special prayer between 12 p.m to 2 p.m. The TajMahal is open for view
in the night before and after two days on the day of full moon. For some of the
similar security reasons only five particular items allowed to carry inside
TajMahal, water bottles, handy cam, mobile, still camera and small handbag. Most
tourists visit in the cooler months of October, November and February.
Polluting traffic is not allowed near the complex and tourists must either walk
from parking lots or catch an electric bus.
The Taj Mahal impresses a millions of tourists all over worldwide.
UNESCO declared more than 2 million people visit TajMahal in 2001 and 3 million
people in 2003.
