Sonam kapoor born on 9th June 1985, Kapoor was
born and raised in Chembur, Mumbai. She is daughter of Anil Kapoor and Sunita.
Who are Sindhi, and the granddaughter of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor. Sonam
Kapoor is the eldest of three children; the others are sister Rhea Kapoor and
brother Harshvardhan. She studied in Arya Vidya Mandir School in Juhu and then
enrolled in the United World College of South East Asia to do her International
Baccalaureate. She also studied Potical Science and Economics from University
of East London. She speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi and Marathi. Kapoor is well
trained classic dancer. She is an Indian actress and a former model. Kapoor’s
father is a famous Indian actor. Kapoor is from celebrity’s family background, she
is the niece of producer Boney Kapoor, actor Sanjay Kapoor and producer Sandeep
Marwah. First cousin of actor Arjun kapoor and Anushala kapoor. Furthermore she
is the second cousin of actor Ranveer Singh. Kapoor is an international best known as a
spoke person for the French beauty L’Oreal. She endorses the brand in India and
represents the brand at the Cannes Film Festival alongside with beautiful
actress Aishwarya Rai Bachan and Freida Pinto.
Kapoor entered
into the bollywood film industry in 2007, her first debut film is Saawariya,
directed by Sanjay Leela Bansali. Her second hit movie was Delhi-6 in 2009. She
got her first commercial success for I Hate Luv Story in 2010. Followed with
such films like Aisha, 2010. Her first release in 2011, Thank you was a
critical failure, although the film was a moderate success at the box office,
as its collection surpassed the 42 crore INR (US$8.2 million) mark. And another
movie Mausam in 2011. Her first release of 2012 is Players, a remake of The
Italian Job. Before staring her career off as an actress, Sonam and Ranbir
Kapoor worked as assistant directors under in Sanjay Leele Bansali in 2004, and
assisted him during of his movie Black.
She has recently committed with more films, busy women wrapped
up with shooting of Anand Rai’s Raanihnaa alongside kollywood actor Dhanush and
is currently shooting for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag with Farhan Akthar. Kapoor also
shooting for Yash Raj Film’s alongside Avushmann Khurrana, directed by Nupur
Asthana.
In 2009, Kapoor participated in the International Indian
Film Academy Awards, (IIFA). Charity fashion show in 2012 Kapoor asked for fans
to donate to the Organ Cancer Foundation for her birthday. They also collaborated
to create awareness for breast cancer.
