The phone was announced at CES
2013 and was launched in February
2013.The smart phone has Ingress
Protection Ratings of IP55 and
IP57, as it is dust protected, water-jet protected and waterproof in 1 meter of
water for 30 minutes. Features a 13.1MP Exmor RS camera sensor as well as a
full HD (1080p) display which packs 443pixels per inch on its wide 5 (12.7cms)
screen, encompassed in Sony's Industrial
'Omni-Balance' Design. A cheaper variant called the Sony Xperia ZL uses the same hardware as the Xperia
Z, however it’s not water resistance for a smaller frame
